WECI is currently holding a fundraising drive to raise the money that makes running the station possible. Below is a message from the station managers.

Hello All,

WECI is still alive and thriving today. We continue to maintain an eclectic mix of student and community DJs who graciously volunteer their time and energy towards satisfying our listeners. The station itself is still run by a combination of students and faculty advisors providing an unique and valuable administrative experiences for many Earlhamites. WECI also continues to be Richmond's only public radio station. And yes, we are also able to be heard world wide through online streaming (to find out more visit www.weciradio.org).

Last year when we wrote to you, we were facing expensive repairs to equipment damaged by a lightening storm. Thanks to many generous contributions, we were able to upgrade and fix all of this equipment, and weĠve been broadcasting merrily ever since, almost. In October, our 25 year old transmitter decided to bite the dust, leaving us with dead air before we were able to buy a new one for the station. Yes, equipment does wear out, and weĠre facing necessary computer upgrades, FCC required emergency alert systems, and costs of regular wear and tear on the station. We would like to ask you to consider making a gift to WECI radio in order to help us afford this, and to help make sure that when an emergency does arise, we can fix it in a timely manner.

At the moment we need to raise 7,000$ for future repairs to get WECI's transmission and studio operations back to reasonable standards. A strong budget helps prevent emergencies, provide opportunities for Richmond and Earlham to interact, and ultimately, to keep us on the airwaves.
